Your move is sealed on the server with a secret salt. Only its fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash) is shared with your rival.

BOTH SEALED
Neither side can see or change a move. The fingerprints are fixed before anything is revealed.

REVEAL
Moves and salts are published together. Anyone can hash them again and get the same fingerprints.
